Global Estonian Internship Program
Looking to reconnect with Estonia, grow professionally, and meet like-minded peers? The Global Estonian Internship Program might be exactly what you’re looking for. Spoiler alert: it’s not just an internship – it’s a transformative experience that lets you discover Estonia through real, hands-on work.
Why is this program a game changer?
- Meaningful connection: For many Global Estonian interns, it’s their first time experiencing Estonia’s working culture – not as visitors only.
- Professional growth: Internships are tailored to their field of interest. Locations vary from ministries and museums to green tech or engineering firms depending on the person’s focus.
- Personal impact: You’ll build networks, gain real-world experience, improve your Estonian (or your professional English), and explore your roots.
- Strong feedback: Mentors consistently praise participants’ curiosity, drive, and adaptability.
- Real results: Many interns have received job offers, extended their stay, or even moved to Estonia.
How it works
- Eligibility: Estonian youth aged 18–35 who’ve lived abroad for more than 5 years.
- Duration: Internships last 4–8+ weeks between May 1 and November 30.
- Stipend: €1,500 (4–6 weeks) or €3,000 (7+ weeks), plus travel support if needed. The application round opens each winter-spring in cooperation with ESTDEV.
